Needles To Say More is committed to quality in every aspect of production. By using high quality yarn, ensuring continuous tutoring for the knitters and quality control at every level, we offer exquisite and exclusive hand-knits for sale.

At our studio, situated in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas, each item is knitted with careful attention to every detail and we take pride in our range of premium hand knits.

In this section, we provide answers to some of the queries which are regularly shared by visitors on the website.

What yarn is used for knitting your products?

Products are knitted in high quality, moth-resistant, colour-fast, hypoallergenic acrylic yarn sourced from one of the best manufacturers and exporters of yarn in India. Research and modern technology has now produced soft, pliable and very warm acrylic yarn, a far cry from earlier blends like “cashmilon” and “nylon”.

A few special products are knitted with pure new wool. These precious items need to be maintained with extra care, and have to be cleaned properly before storage.

Cotton yarn is knitted into unique throws and shawls which can be worn in every month and every season of our tropical climate.

Why is the colour of my knitted garment different from the photo on your website?

Computer monitors vary in how they display colours. Additionally, lighting during our photo shoots may mildly affect how the colour appears. However, we try our best to ensure the colours are accurately represented.

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

We will process and ship your order within 3 business days, if it is in stock. If your order is stated as “pre-order” it will take approximately 20 business days to knit the garment. We will send you a tracking number once your order is completed and shipped to your address. In all cases, you will receive an email, informing you about the availability of the product, the time which will be taken to knit/prepare your order, and any other relevant information.

If you need any live updates on your order please feel free to contact us at sales@needlestosaymore.com

Will the garment shrink when I wash it? Will the colour run?

Garments knitted with high quality acrylic yarn will not shrink when washed, nor will the colour run. Care must be taken, however, to use warm, not hot water, while washing them.

Garments made with pure wool yarn have a tendency to “felt”. When washed in very hot water, or agitated violently during machine-washing, pure wool fibres stick to each other and get matted or felted. This is an irreversible process, and the garment will shrink and lose its soft, pliable feel. Wool, therefore, has to be treated with respectful care.

Garments knitted with cotton yarn will not shrink, but creases may appear. This will vanish if the garment is dried flat, and with steam ironing.

My sweater is fuzzy with small pills. Is this normal?

Pilling occurs when individual wool fibers rub against each other, felting into tiny balls. It’s not a defect of the yarn, but a natural occurrence in garments knitted with pure wool. Pilling happens in areas of friction like sleeves and the front panel. You can easily remove pills with your fingers, or with a de-pilling appliance.

How do I care for my sweaters?

Do not hang your sweaters, as the weight can stretch out the shoulder area and disfigure the shaping and fit. Always store sweaters after folding them.

To keep the sweater looking new, you can remove pills by using a pill-remover appliance (available online). Please note that pilling is a characteristic of wool and unrelated to quality. The woolier, or loftier the yarn, the greater the risk of pilling during normal wear.

Wool is a natural, breathable fiber which has the unique advantage of not requiring frequent cleaning during long term wear. Remove stains immediately, using spot cleaning. Air your wool sweaters regularly when not in use, store in an airtight container with cedar balls or lavender to avoid damage by moths.

Acrylic yarn is easy to maintain, can take a lot of wear and tear, and can be cleaned frequently. These qualities are useful for outdoor gear, baby and child clothing, throws and other home accessories.

Can I wash these products in the washing machine? What would be the appropriate settings?

You can wash your acrylic products (baby garments, baby shawls, pullovers, cowls and scarves, socks, hats etc) in the delicate cycle of your washing machine. Avoid very hot temperature settings. Washing instructions have been detailed for all products on our website.

Do you make custom garments to measure?

Yes! We do undertake orders for knitted garments in specific measurements, specific color combinations and patterns. The details are finalized over emails with the customer. Pricing is based on different features – quality of yarn, complexity of pattern, size etc. An advance payment of 50% of the final price is mandatory.

These custom made garments take 6-8 weeks to deliver.

Will the product I receive be the same as the one I chose to purchase online?

Yes, you will. However, computer monitors vary in how they display colors and shades. Additionally, lighting during our photo shoots may also mildly affect the color shown online. We try our best, however, to ensure that there is accurate representation of the colors.

How can I return an item?

Needlestosaymore prides itself on the impeccable quality of our knitted products. Each item is made with care, checked repeatedly and then prepared for delivery. We do not accept returns of any item, once it has been sold to the customer.

Do you undertake bulk orders of any item?

Since every item has been handknitted with care and attention to every detail, our knitters take their requisite time to produce quality items. The quality of the yarn, knitting and finishing will not be compromised at any cost. Hence, undertaking bulk orders, with any expectation of discounts or quick delivery, is not a viable option for us.

Can I visit your knitting studio?

If you are visiting Ranikhet, our small hill town, please do schedule a visit to our studio cum store. We are open from 9 am to 1 pm on weekdays, and would be delighted to show you our products.
